The season is now open for cutting hedges and trimming trees along the public roadside to make the roads safer for all traffic and the onus is on all property owners to ensure this is done on their roadside property.

One business in Listowel and two in Ballybunion have closed recently and while we have to contend with the virus this situation is only likely to get worse.As far as possible shopping local will help our local shops to stay open and many of those that close down are unlikely to ever reopen with a poor outlook for rural communities.


This week is health and wellbeing week and there is no doubt that the virus situation which is currently on its second wave is causing ongoing distress to a great many people.There is some very good information on www.healthykerry.ie to help everybody through the current situation.



It seems the clocks are to go back one hour on October 25th despite hopes early in the year that we would permanently stay on the new time.



It is now more important than ever to adhere to all the safety practices as the Covid virus is currently infecting very large numbers of people all over the country and as we enter the time of cold weather on which the virus thrives and also the annual influenza we can all play our part in helping everybody to stay safe by reducing travel,social gatherings and all unnecessary interactions.
